Piroska Antony – Móré, M.D.

I graduated from university in 1978. I started to work at the 1st Department of Surgery at Semmelweis University as an anaesthesiologist, then I was the head of the anaesthesiology service of the 2nd Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology for 20 years. I retired from the Anaesthesiology and Intensive Therapy Clinic in 2017. I have been working at Maternity Private Clinic for a year. I consider myself lucky because my profession – healing and education – was also my main hobby.
It is hard to highlight one special case or one moment as a doctor, given that I have had many life-changing experiences during my career. There were many difficult situations at the maternity ward, but we always succeeded. Once the heart of our patients’ baby stopped during an ultrasound. The baby was taken out within eight minutes then it was followed by resuscitation for half an hour. Finally, we happily ended up with a completely healthy baby – this is a memory I will never forget.
I have three children and two grandchildren, and I spend most of my free time with them, but I like reading, gardening and hiking too.
