Boglárka Fábián, M.D.
After graduation I was looking for a specialisation in which manual skills are just as important as lexical knowledge. Obstetrics/gynaecology is extremely versatile. Besides prenatal care and delivery it includes the treatment of gynaecological infections, hormonal imbalance and urinary incontinence and the diagnostics and treatment of oncological lesions either by medication or surgery.
I had a very nice patient in her early thirties who was diagnosed with breast cancer a few months after the birth of her first child. She had surgery, she got chemotherapy and radiotherapy according to the protocols. Three years later she got pregnant again and had a healthy baby. She has been asymptomatic ever since. I had the chance to be with her in the most desperate and most beautiful moments of her life: this is the beauty of our profession.
I like reading, especially Latin-American literature. Sport has been a part of my everyday life since childhood, I work out 3 or 4 times a week, however, I spend most of my free-time with my family. We have a 1.5 year old daughter, so we organize our free-time according to her needs.
