Prof. Csaba Horváth, M.D.

I graduated in 1978 from Semmelweis University. I am an internal medicine and endocrinology specialist. I have an academic doctoral and a PhD degree, currently I am a professor at the university.
I am interested in everything in the field of internal medicine and endocrinology, especially – but not to the detriment of other fields – in the calcium and bone metabolism and the metabolic problems of patients with kidney stones. We are studying the background of the recurrence of kidney stones with my research team.
As a doctor, I experience numerous key moments. Years ago, a pregnant lady with highly elevated calcium levels visited me. This state was dangerous not just for her but for the baby as well. I managed to unveil the underlying problem, I found an extremely unique, special lesion causing hypercalcaemia. This story is very important to me not just professionally but also personally because we faced a very special and unique problem which we managed to solve and also, we could follow an unusually endangered pregnancy until the birth of a beautiful and healthy baby.
I spend most of my free-time in nature, I like waters, plants and animals. Reading is also a way of relaxation for me, I like literature and poems.
