BALÁZS LINTNER, M.D.

Obstetrician and gynecologist, gynecologic cancer surgeon

I graduated from the medical university in 2000, after which I worked at II. Obstetrics and Gynaecology Clinic, where I completed my specialist examination in obstetrics and gynaecology. I spent a year in Germany at an oncology centre through a German state scholarship, which made gynaecological oncological surgery one of my focus areas. In 2015, I completed the gynaecology oncology specialist examination, which makes the field of surgery one of my main profiles.

After the specialist examination, I worked at the National Institute of Oncology for a year and a half, then I performed operations in the South-Pest Hospital, and the II. Gynaecology Clinic, and now I lead the oncology department of the “unified” gynaecology clinic, alongside a small team. As a member of the European Society for Medical Oncology, I regularly take part in courses and workshops. I believe that continuous professional development is important.

Originally, I wanted to be a plastic surgeon, but things happened a different way. My father was also an obstetrics and gynaecology specialist, which had some influence on my decision, but of course, I never regretted it. In the end, the surgical byline remained. I am interested in all kinds of gynaecological surgeries and operative solutions. This is the field I feel is closest to me and the one I enjoy engaging with the most. I feel that with these surgeries, I can truly help the patients who come to me, improving, and changing their quality of life. The successes of successful treatments mean a lot to me, and it is a very good feeling when we manage to resolve an existing issue through this.

If I have time, I play sports as much as possible. I understand that this may sound exaggerated, but it is genuinely important to me. I work at an extremely fast pace, so I need something to relieve stress. My two favourite sports are tennis and water polo.
