BARBARA RIGÓ, M.D.

I graduated university in Budapest in 2004. Ever since 2002, I regularly went to the I. Obstetrics and Gynaecology Clinic, where I worked under dr. Petronella Hupuczi and dr. Zoltán Papp. I imagined a multi-faceted, complex profession for myself, with an operative side to it as well. I always wanted to work with children and remain in touch with the patients, taking part in stages of life that are marked by experiences of success. It was also important for me to find my place in my profession as a mother, so it was also a certainty that I would choose obstetrics and gynaecology.

My favourite areas include ultrasound, surgeries, fertility issues, as well as the challenges and problem-solving associated with them, in order to help guide infertile couples. I also feel very passionate about obstetrics as well. To this day, it is a great feeling to be standing there as the child is born and ever since I have had children of my own, I can feel these joyful moments even more.

I was still at the start of my professional career when a high school classmate visited, six weeks pregnant. I have conducted many childbirths by then, but she was the first who also wanted provide care throughout her pregnancy. Her beautiful little son was born under my care, and I still maintain contact with him to this day. This was such a positive experience for me at the time, that I still think back on it fondly, and every patient who honours me with their trust and whom I can help in any way is equally important to me.
