I graduated from the Faculty of General Medicine of Semmelweis University in 2015, and then began my professional training in obstetrics and gynaecology. My specialization was majorly influenced by the desire for a profession that presents complex challenges every day (endocrinology, assisted reproduction, infertility examinations, chronic pain management, microbiology, genetics, surgical techniques, oncology, ultrasound diagnostics, prenatal care, neonatology), and for the work I put in to be an experience for me in everyday life. I believe that obstetrics and gynaecology completely fulfils these criteria and expectations.
I began my residency training at I. Obstetrics and Gynaecology Clinic of Semmelweis University, and gained special insight into the care of extremely preterm infants, the professional management of oncology patients, the treatment of high-risk pregnancies, the increasingly relevant field of genetic counselling, as well as the daily protocol-based investigations in the infertility clinic, and the often surgical solutions provided for patients suffering from endometriosis, which often require the involvement of other related professions.
In 2016, I worked at the Urology Department of the Uzsoki Street Hospital for close to a year. Urology is perhaps the field closest to gynaecology, encompassing the treatment of general combined (urinary and vaginal) infections, anti-incontinence tape surgeries performed on the vagina (TVT, TOT), as well as sacrocolpopexy surgeries in cases of uterine prolapse. Within this institution, I had the opportunity to perform many tape surgeries, and partake in the urodynamic follow-up examinations of patients.
Between 2017 and 2021, I worked at the Hetényi Hospital in Szolnok, and the Jahn Ferenc South-Pest Hospital in Budapest, as a medical specialist student. Thanks to these two central hospitals, I had an outstanding number of cases, with regard to both outpatient and inpatient care. It is at these two places, where I began to engage in hysteroscopic examinations (diagnostic or operative hysteroscopy), diagnostic and operative laparoscopy (myoma and endometriosis surgeries), and gynaecological oncology.
With consideration for the new healthcare status established from March 2021, I now work as a full-time physician at the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Clinic of Maternity, almost every day of the week. I have been providing consultations and performing operations at the institute since 2019, and I feel immensely honoured as a young professional to be able to work and learn among the professional elite, day after day. The system of a “contracted” doctor is legally fully permissible here. I undertake obstetric and gynaecological surgeries here, and if the patient’s interests require such, I ensure appropriate patient care here, even in collaboration with specialists.
