LAJOS LANTOS, PH.D., M.D.

Pediatrician, neonatologist, chief physician

DAY
CONSULTING HOURS
Monday 9:00 – 13:00

I completed my degree at the Faculty of General Medicine at the University of Debrecen in 2009. I gained the foundation of my professional knowledge at the Paediatric Clinic of Debrecen, where I completed my paediatric specialist examination in 2014. Following this, I continued my career in Budapest, and my professional interest shifted towards neonatology (caring for newborns and preterm infants). As such, I joined the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Üllői Street Campus of Semmelweis University. I completed my neonatology specialist examination in 2018. I continued my education and career in England at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the University of Cambridge, where I worked until 2020. Throughout the years, I gained extensive knowledge in infant and paediatric medicine, as well as neonatology. I current bolster the ranks of the medical team of the Peter Cerny Foundation for Curing Sick Babies.

The centrepiece of my academic interests is the ventilation of newborns and preterm newborns and the research of such, defending my PhD thesis in 2022, under the title “Examination of volume guarantee ventilation during neonatal transport”. I have numerous associated English-language publications, and I am a regular speaker at scientific congresses and further training programmes.

I have been working at Maternity Private Clinic since 2021, and since 2022, I have also taken on the clinical manager role of the Neonatal Department. Our goal is to provide a family-centric, high-quality newborn care at the clinic, for which both technical and human resources are available.

I am married, have 2 children, and spend most of my free time with my family. My hobbies include sports (running, cycling, swimming), but my greatest joy is kiteboarding, which I regularly partake in.
