Pediatrician, neonatologist, IBCLC lactation consultant
During my time at the medical university, I was confident for a long time that I would choose the manual aspect of this profession. The truth is that neonatology chose me. At the fifth-year paediatric practice, I was assigned to the neonatal intensive care unit. The older colleagues sensed my receptiveness to this discipline.
I am an integrative person. I enjoy approaching challenges from multiple perspectives. I have an insight into complementary medicine. This is how I look at my breastfeeding counsellor qualification as well: it is a puzzle piece, which serves to complete the knowledge I gained at the university and during practice, in order to provide care at a higher and more complex level.
It is a great honour to be present at the birth of a new life and to support the family as they embark on their unique journey. Every family is different, and we consider it our goal to help them find their path in getting to know and understand their newborn. To me, this is akin to a creative endeavour.
I also retained my childhood dreams for crafts. I have taken part in multiple drawing courses and studied the pastel technique. I enjoy drawing and painting for leisure, both of which bring me great joy. I also hope to learn lacemaking. Influenced by our two children, my husband and I also started horseback riding. Our shared dream is to embark on a horseback trek together.
