SZILÁRD PAPP, PH.D., M.D.

My name is Dr. Szilárd Papp. I was born in Miskolc in 1978. I graduated from the University of Pécs Medical School in 2003. After that, I continued the scientific research endeavours I have started during my university years at the Institute of Physiology of Pécs, in the field of neurophysiology. After I attained my PhD in 2008, I began my healthcare work at the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Clinic at the University of Pécs. I completed specialist examinations in obstetrics and gynaecology in 2012, clinical oncology in 2014, and gynaecologic oncology surgery in 2020. Following my appointment as an associate professor, I managed the Gynaecological Department and the Oncological Department at the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Clinic at the University of Pécs from 2017 to 2021. Since 2003, I have been actively educating medical students, in both hungarian and in english. I am a regular participant in national and international congresses, where I give presentations. I am a member of the Hungarian Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, the Hungarian Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy, and the Hungarian Society of Gynaecological Oncologists, for which I am a member of the board.

Besides obstetrics, my areas of interest primarily include gynaecological diseases, with a focus on the surgical treatment of gynaecological cancers and deeply infiltrating endometriosis, using both traditional and minimally invasive (laparoscopic) techniques.
