TAMÁS GOZÁR, M.D.

Obstetrician and gynecologist

I graduated from Semmelweis University in 1996, where even as a medical student, I knew for certain that my interests lay in obstetrics and gynaecology. I never really considered anything else. I wanted manual skills and surgeries to have an important place in my profession, but at the same time, I also wanted to nurture human relationships and seek the sense of accomplishment that comes with them. Upon graduating, I immediately started working at the obstetrics clinic of the Kútvölgy Street Hospital, then joined the Maternity team almost from the very beginning.

I would be hard-pressed to point out any specific segment of my profession, but lately I have mostly been involved with infertility and its examination. Obstetrics and gynaecology are very interesting and complex fields, with many wonderful stories and defining experiences of success. It is always a great feeling to be part of the genuine happiness of others during childbirth, and it is also a tremendous joy when a patient arrives with a positive test result after years of unsuccessful attempts. It matters a lot to be part of the solution for a long-standing problem, both on a professional and on a personal level.

I like to spend my free time traveling, reading, exercising, or watching movies, but the most impactful for me has always been spending time with my friends and family. I believe that genuine human connections are the most important in the world, and nothing energizes me quite like an afternoon or evening spent with any of my loved ones.
